Minority Veterans of America presents Your Next Mission in the Nonprofit Sector, a virtual panel hosted by Project Thrive on Tuesday, May 4, 7pm (Eastern Time). Many veterans leave the military and look to find their next mission or purpose through continuing to serve. For this reason, the nonprofit sector holds a lot of value and promise for minority veterans. The nonprofit industry can be difficult to break into and can present its own unique challenges for minority veterans. Join the panelists as they discuss how they found their way into their roles in the nonprofit sector, what challenges and systemic barriers minorities face in transitioning to the nonprofit sector, and how they overcame those challenges. Panelists will share resources and insights into staying true to your values and goals while working in the nonprofit sector. This panel is part of a series of discussions hosted by Project Thrive, the Minority Vets economic empowerment program working to advance the career and economic interests of the minority veteran community.
Panelists include:
Jeremy Butler, CEO, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America
Stephanie Gattas, CEO and Founder, The Pink Berets
BriGette McCoy, CEO, Women Veterans Social Justice Network
Moderated by Justine Evirs, Founder and Host, Protecting Courage Podcast
