Nassau County presents the Veterans Winter Stand Down on November 24, 10am-2pm. This event is limited due to COVID-19. Veterans must wear a mask and follow all event guidelines while in attendance.

Services to be provided at this limited event are: winter jackets, clothes, boots, non-perishable foods, and holiday turkey giveaway. Burger King will provide to-go meals.

All veterans and military wishing to attend the Stand Down as a guest in-need of services can drive through the speedy drive-up distribution. Veterans will be encouraged to stay in their vehicles to receive the free distribution items. After receiving items, please exit the Freeport Armory property. Traffic Control will be there to guide everyone in and out of the property.    

Veterans who do not have vehicles may still walk up to the entrance and secure their place in line while social distancing. They will receive the items through the front door of the Freeport Armory. No one will be admitted into the building due to COVID-19.
