Project Renewal will hold an information session for their upcoming Next Step Internship Program on Tuesday, February 8, 2-3pm EST.
You can start a new career in Homeless Services as a Residential Aide, Front Desk Worker or Maintenance Worker.
This 8-week training program gives you a combination of classroom and paid on-the-job training in a New York City Homeless shelter or Supportive Housing facility.
About the Training Program:
Interns will complete approximately 140 classroom hours and 140 internship hours to prepare for entry level social service employment
In-person classes
Interns will learn to better assist clients with Serious Mental Illness, Addiction, and Homelessness issues
Intensive job training will be provided in:
Crisis Prevention Certification
Narcan Training
Fire Guard F-02 preparation
Covid mental Health
Requirements:
Attend info session (Virtual or In-person)
Complete application and assessment
Attend virtual interview to determine eligibility
Attend intake meeting
18 years and older
High School Diploma/Equivalency
Covid 19 vaccination
Provide I9 Document for employment
At least 90 days sober from any substance use
Commit to 8 weeks of classroom and on the job training
Remote computer access (tablet or phone)
Seek employment upon training completion
