Every January, the Department of Finance mails each property owner in New York City a Notice of Property Value (NOPV). NOPVs give you information about your property, including its assessed value, market value, exemptions, and property description. It is not a tax bill and does not require a payment.
During a Notice of Property Value Outreach Session, receive assistance regarding your property taxes with the New York City Department of Finance on February 4, 4-5pm (EST). Understand your NOPV. Inquire about your market and assessed values. Change your property’s description. Save money on your property taxes by applying for exemptions.

March 15 is the deadline to apply for exemptions. The City of New York offers tax exemptions and abatements for seniors, veterans, clergy members, people with disabilities, and other homeowners. These benefits can lower your property tax bill.
