NYC 20th Anniversary Commemoration of Post-9/11 Service

The United War Veterans Council (UWVC) and the NYC Department of Veteran Services invite you to join them for a 20th Anniversary Commemoration of Post-9/11 Operations and the Global War on Terror (GWOT) on Tuesday, October 19, 1-2pm at the Vietnam Veterans Plaza in Lower Manhattan.  This is New York City's largest outdoor public space dedicated to our veterans. The rededication of this Plaza was the first public event in downtown Manhattan following the attacks of 9/11, symbolizing the resilience and resurgence of our City.

Speakers will include Post-9/11 veterans who will highlight different themes and aspects of the past 20 years of war which began with the events of September 11th, 2001, encompassing Afghanistan, Iraq and theaters of operation around the world. The ceremony will conclude with a wreath laying.

Register here.

Following New York City and New York State COVID-19 protocols, this outdoor event is open to guests regardless of vaccination status. To further ensure the safety and comfort of guests and participants, social distancing measures will be implemented in seating and viewing areas. Masks are recommended. All attendees are expected to be respectful of other attendees' safety, personal space, and comfort.
