CONFERENCE THEME: SOCIAL WORK WITH SERVICE MEMBERS, VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES
The mutually dependent systems affecting Military Service Members and Veterans include familial, economic, educational, political, health, and mental health. Now more than ever, as Service Members return from military theaters around the globe, the role of social work and human services in these systems is integral to successful re-entry.
This conference will explore social work interventions at the micro, mezzo, and macro levels. The voice of Veterans as well as Active Duty, Reserve, and National Guard members themselves will play an important role in all conference presentations.
THE APPLICATION FOR PROPOSALS IS AVAILABLE:
Workshop sessions are 60 minutes in length and emphasize skill building with a practice-based component.
Plenary Sessions are 90 minute lectures/panel presentations that focus on research, practice, and/or training initiatives. Plenaries occur at designated times during the Conference.
Interactive Poster Presentations display current work/research with Service Members/Veterans.
Presenters speak on their posters at designated times (for more information, see the application).
Important Deadline: All proposals are due by August 30th
