The position involves direct administration of day-to-day program activities of the NYU Veterans and Military Resource Center. In partnership with other Schools and departments, develop veteran-specific programming. Identify internal and external faculty to conduct workshops. Monitor and evaluate program success and sustainability. Evaluate outcomes to improve future programs and needs. Evaluate proposals for and develop programs and collaborations based on the mission of the Center and make recommendations for new strategic initiatives.
Administer program budgets and control expenses, supervise staff. Make presentations about the current state of offerings. Recommend, plan and implement changes to existing programs and initiatives. Assist veterans on campus with the navigation of available benefits and University resources. Serve as lead coordinator of the Veterans Advisory Committee and co-chair of the Veterans Working Group. Plan and implement programs for current veteran students and alumni for the School of Professional Studies including orientation, parents and family day, student club organization activities, and student-alumni mentorship activities. Assist with creation and development of new initiatives to attract veteran students. Identify appropriate, mutually beneficial relationships with other veterans-affiliated organizations and potential opportunities for collaboration. In partnership with appropriate central offices, develop a community engagement strategy for the veteran population at-large, including coordinating conferences, seminars, programs, and events that would be of interest to external veteran constituencies. Maintain a comprehensive veteran website.
