Laurie is a director, playwright and teaching artist from Los Angeles, California. Currently she is the Associate Director of Public Works at The Public Theater and has spent the last 20 years creating new work with various communities and in regional theaters across the country. Laurie has created site-specific work ranging from a working saw mill in Eureka, California to a prison gymnasium. She teaches in universities all over California and New York. Laurie was formerly the Associate Artistic Director of Cornerstone Theater Company and Director of the Conservatory at South Coast Repertory.
