The Queens County Council VFW holds their annual Picnic & BBQ fundraiser on August 6, 1pm. Suggested donation is $15.
The Queens County Council Veterans of Foreign Wars is an organization that supports local Veterans, but the core values include supporting local communities as well as those still serving, and even though it’s been nearly 15 years since the start of the Global War on Terror following the September 11 attacks, there are those that continue to leave their families on a regular basis and head towards dangerous locations across the globe. With that said, Queens County will be holding a collection during the picnic for a large care package that will be sent to a Special Operations Unit of CV-22 Osprey aircrews that have just commenced a deployment to the Middle East. Even if you may not be able to attend the picnic for the entire duration please feel free to stop by and contribute to this care package. Toiletries are not a necessity but snacks such as jerky, granola bars, trail mix, and any other snacks will certainly be greatly appreciated and help to boost morale to our troops downrange.
