Participate in a new Reading Group, The Return of the Warrior: Friendship and Comradery In, and After, the Military, beginning Thursdays on February 23, at 6pm. Discussions will focus on themes surrounding friendship and comradery in the military and after serving/coming home. As a group, they’ll be reading and discussing Joseph Heller’s Catch-22, Sophocles’ Ajax, and also examining a western frontier painting, My Bunkie, by Charles Schreyvogel.
Participation is free and voluntary – come to as many or as few sessions as you like. The focus is on veterans, but anyone and everyone interested in these topics - and the free books - is welcome to join the five sessions.
The group is organized by Daniel Murphy (former USMC) and Dr. Mattia Roveri (NYU). Email to sign up.
