Sierra Club Outings Veteran Leader Training

The Sierra Club Outdoors hosts a free training course August 2-6 in Chaplin, CT. Room and board is provided and limited transportation scholarships are available.

The Outings Leader Training 101 is designed to improve your skill and competence for conducting overnight outings that result in safe, happy, and inspired participants. They primarily recruit veterans and their families to become Outings Leaders, but all who work with veterans and families are welcome. You do not need outdoors experience.

The Sierra Club Military Outdoors was established in 2006 as a volunteer led program. Since then they have facilitated outdoor opportunities for more than 70,000 veterans and their families. Designed by veterans, the mission is to help veterans and their families explore, enjoy, and protect the planet.
