Outside the Wire is a multi-format humanities project at Rutgers University's Camden Writers House that highlights the narratives and experiences of American veterans throughout the country’s history of conflict.
During the 2021-22 project cycle, Outside the Wire will explore the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the military community. How has the pandemic intensified the isolation many veterans already feel? How has it inflected or triggered memories of trauma from their service experiences? How have veterans participated in or benefited from the swell of mutual aid and community action that have colored the last two years?Read more
The New York State Homeowner Assistance Fund (NYS HAF) program will be accepting applications until Friday, February 18th. Starting on February 19th, interested homeowners will be added to a waiting list. Please apply as soon as possible. NYS HAF expects to receive significantly more applications than can be funded by the program. Applications will be processed in the order they were received. Application submission does not guarantee you will receive financial assistance.

The NY State Excelsior Pass is secure, digital proof of your COVID-19 vaccination or negative test results. It does not include COVID-19 vaccination dates and dosage information. It is only accepted in NY State by participating venues and business. You can print your Excelsior Pass directly from the web portal, store the Pass to the New York State Excelsior Wallet on your smartphone, and/or add the Pass to supported mobile phone wallets.
The NY State Excelsior Pass Plus is a secure, digital copy of your COVID-19 vaccination record or negative test results. Your Pass Plus provides safe access to your vaccination information, and includes vaccine type, site, and date of your vaccination, just like your paper CDC Card. It can also provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR Test Pass (valid until midnight on the third day after a test) or a negative COVID-19 Antigen Test Pass (valid for 6 hours from the time of a test). The inclusion of this health information enables interested New Yorkers to have a verifiable record of their COVID-19 vaccination history or negative COVID-19 test at their fingertips, for record-keeping and/or usage outside of New York State. You can print your Excelsior Pass Plus directly from the web portal and/or store the Pass Plus to the New York State Wallet App on your smartphone.
