The New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) will host a webinar, ACCES-VR: Choosing a Career Path After Acquiring a Disability, on Wednesday, August 17, 1pm.
When an individual acquires a disability as a youth or adult it may impact their job or career choices. This presentation will share information and strategies for anyone that may be trying to decide on a career path of interest after they have acquired a disability. Time will be provided at the end for questions and answers.

Camp Corral Summer Camp Applications Open
Camp Corral is now accepting applications for Summer Camp for children ages 8-15 and for Family Camp.
Camp Corral is a national non-profit organization whose mission is to transform the lives of children of this nation’s wounded, ill, and fallen military heroes. Since its inception in 2011, Camp Corral has served nearly 29,000 children from every state in the nation with resilience-based programs focused upon the very unique attributes and challenges shared by military-connected children across the country.
In keeping with a vision to empower military children to live their best lives possible, the Camp Corral team develops and delivers specialized programming created to meet the needs of these children and their families. Along with fun traditional summer camp programs designed to provide respite, build peer-support connections, strengthen self-confidence, and reinforce coping skills, Camp Corral offers family camp retreats, virtual therapeutic art programs, peer connection activities, as well as holistic supportive services.

The Lifetime Liberty Pass permits qualified New York State veterans with disabilities discounted use of state parks, historic sites, and recreational facilities operated by the Office Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (State Parks) and the state Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC). Once issued, the Lifetime Liberty Pass will never have to be renewed!
The Lifetime Liberty Pass benefits include free vehicle entry to state parks and DEC-operated day-use areas, as well as numerous state boat launch sites, historic sites, arboretums and park preserves; free golf at 28 State Park golf courses; free swimming pool entrance at 36 State Park pools, and discounted camping and cabin rentals at all 119 State Park and DEC campgrounds.

Registration for the 2022 National Veterans Summer Sports Clinic (NVSSC) is open until April 1 and limited to the first 150 Veteran applicants who submit the required paperwork.
NVSSC is a rehabilitation sports and recreation program for Veterans with disabilities which will take place in San Diego Aug. 7-12. It is hosted by the VA San Diego Healthcare System, along with presenting sponsor, Wounded Warrior Project, the Veterans Canteen Service and dozens of other partners.

Thanks to generous support from the Ford Foundation, Military Veterans in Journalism has launched a disability inclusion initiative to create conversations and reporting within American newsrooms about military veteran issues, with a focus on disabled veterans. As part of this effort, MVJ is launching a speakers bureau of military veterans in journalism to advocate for better, more nuanced reporting on disabled military veterans and to share best practices with newsrooms across the nation.
MVJ is seeking applicants for its 2022 Speakers Bureau. MVJ will provide training to eight military veterans on best practices in disability reporting. Afterwards, the veterans will lead their own training and presentations at local newsrooms in the veterans’ communities.

NHS Brooklyn Community Development Corporation, Inc. is offering Home Help for Heroes, a financial assistance program for Brooklyn's disabled veterans who own a home that needs modification in order for them to continue living independently. Eligible projects include wheelchair ramps, lifts, roll-in showers, and doorway widening.
