Warrior Writers is hosting a virtual Facilitator Training in October 2021.
Warrior Writers' creative writing workshops offer prompts that cover a variety of military issues and experiences. This encourages sharing stories, opinions, and ideas for productive writing/reflecting/story-telling and art-making. A highlight of these workshops for many veterans is having a space to release bottled-up thoughts and emotions among others who understand, creating a sense of empowerment in the ability to tell their own story. By creating an open and accepting atmosphere, we build a community of support. Workshops are for any service member or veteran regardless of experiences with writing, combat, art, deployment, etc.
Becoming a facilitator means you want to be actively involved in leading national writing workshops or working within your local community to bring Warrior Writers workshops to your area, with the collaboration and support of the national office. All facilitators who lead workshops for the national office will receive payment. Paid opportunities are shared with all facilitators. Selection of facilitators for paid opportunities will be done in a way to ensure diversity, inclusion, fairness, equity, and representation.Read more
Workforce 1 is offering FREE Site Safety Training!
As a requirement of NYC Local Law 196, on March 1st 2021 workers at most major construction sites MUST show that they have completed a Site Safety Training (SST) course within the previous five years.
Workforce1 is prepared to help you obtain that training FREE OF CHARGE. Their virtual training will satisfy the requirement for general and specialized electives needed to obtain a worker SST card provided by Small Business Services. Workers must complete a total of 40 hours of training as of March 1st, 2021 in order to qualify for a SST Card. The most convenient way for a worker to receive a combined 40 hours of training is to complete a 30 Hour OSHA training program, an 8 Hour Fall Prevention Course, and a 2 Hour Drug and Alcohol Awareness Course. If you do not have 30 Hour OSHA Workforce will provide the equivalent to ensure that you meet the NYC Site Safety Training standards and be prepared for the current job market when asked to present this certification. If you already have valid proof of your OSHA 30, you’re eligible to take the 10 hour Site Safety Training portion FREE OF CHARGE.Read more
