Vietnam Veterans Honor Flight Reunion at AAM
The American Airpower Museum (AAM) invites you to join them at Hangar 3 on Saturday, August 13, 11am-1pm, as they honor the 13 Vietnam veterans and 1 WWII veteran who flew to Washington, D.C. in June as guests of Honor Flight Long Island. Members of the public may enter between 10:30am and 12:00pm.
This event is free! No preregistration or tickets required.
The public is encouraged to attend the reunion for free, to help give long overdue recognition and thanks to this group of Vietnam veterans! Applaud and cheer our gallant Band of Brothers, as each in turn is called up to receive awards in a special Ceremony of Honors.
There will be a performance by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla Band, playing a crowd-pleasing patriotic medley known as the “Armed Forces Salute,” which features five official theme songs of the U.S. Armed Forces: Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard. Come honor Long Island’s home-grown heroes! Cake and refreshments will be served to everyone afterwards.

Harlem Vet Center Vietnam Veterans Virtual Meeting
The Harlem Vet Center will hold a virtual meeting for Vietnam veterans on Tuesday, August 16, 1-2pm EDT. The goal of this meeting is to build relationships with fellow veterans, meet professional health counselors, and find comfort and meeting from each participant's military service.
Our time in service is not only defined by active duty, but by our life experiences since. Recent events can make these increasingly difficult and isolating times for all of us. But like our service, we are never alone. Camaraderie is the hallmark of our military experience and through each other we find strength. Join this virtual group to lend strength to and find strength in fellow Vietnam veterans.
