Trans Identity and Deborah Sampson

Join author Alex Myers as he discusses his novel Revolutionary, which explores the fascinating, true story of Deborah Sampson, the legendary woman who disguised herself as a man and fought with distinction during the Revolutionary War. Hear about Myer’s research, historical understandings of gender, and how Sampson’s story fits into our current ideas about trans identity. Ages 21 and up. Wine included with ticket.

Alex Myers is a teacher, speaker, writer, and advocate for transgender rights. This talk will be followed by a book signing with the author.
