The PFC Dwyer/Vet2Vet Program, with the Veterans Writing Workshop and Castle Point VA, offer a Virtual Writing Workshop for Caregivers and families of veterans on March 11, 7-8:30pm (EST).
This 10-session creative writing workshop will provide participants with a structured and supportive environment where they can write about their experiences as caregivers as well as other areas of their life. The group will be guided by Julia Rust, a teaching artist, editor and published author as well as a certified Veterans Writing Workshop Facilitator. The workshop is designed for all levels of writing experience so even those with minimal writing experience are encouraged to attend.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the caregiver’s writings will be preserved and celebrated in an attractive print anthology. They recognize that being a caregiver of a veteran is often difficult and it is easy to feel disconnected from the greater veteran community. They seek to provide caregivers and family members a unique and creative opportunity to reflect individually, while being with a group of peers having a shared experience. Through sharing, participants can also help to create dialog and understanding between caregivers and the community.
