Joseph P. Dwyer of Suffolk County offers Veteran Peer Mentor Training beginning October 29, 9am-12pm. The training is designed to help peers develop the critical competencies to work with veterans, from relationship building to ensuring effective linkages. Open to anyone who works with veterans in the community, especially those experiencing post service challenges: veteran advocates, community leaders, university staff, social workers, nurses/primary care workers/public health staff, volunteers and caregivers.
The training is free. Space is limited. Participants must attend two half-day sessions (October 29 & November 5).
