Aquila Theatre Company presents The Warrior Chorus New Works: Staged Reading Series on April 11, 7-8:30pm.
Enjoy staged readings of selected scenes from four new works by the members of the Warrior Chorus, inspired by Aristophanes' Frogs, Euripides' The Bacchae and Hippolytus, and Aeschylus' Suppliants and The Persians. These new works examine the cost of war for the individual, the family and society, and what it means to live in and fight for Democracy. Listen and join in on the discussion. Admission is free. Open to the public.
The culminating event the season consists of short excerpts from all four new plays, as well as excerpts from the ancient works, all performed by members of the Warrior Chorus, and moderated by Peter Meineck, Professor of Classics in the Modern World, NYU.
