Words After War offers an 8-week MFA-style writing workshop on Wednesdays beginning November 10, 7:30-9:30pm (EST), with instructor Matt Gallagher. This workshop offers high-quality literary instruction to the NYC community, fostering a space for developing craft, critique, and connection. The mission is to bring veterans and civilians together to examine war through literature, and they are committed to building a literary community that is inclusive and diverse.
Matt Gallagher is the author of the novels Empire City and Youngblood, a finalist for the 2016 Dayton Literary Peace Prize. His work has appeared in The New York Times, The Atlantic, Esquire, The Paris Review and Wired, among other places. He’s also the author of the Iraq war memoir Kaboom and coeditor of, and contributor to, the short fiction collection Fire & Forget: Short Stories from the Long War.
