Your Brain on the Military

The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum offers a presentation called Your Brain on the Military on June 8, 3:30-5pm. The Intrepid Museum and New-York Presbyterian Military Family Wellness Center welcome current and former military service members and their family and friends for an afternoon exploring the links between military service and the brain. Hear from researchers and veterans as they unravel myths and realities about veterans and mental health.

Speakers and topics include: Dr. Colleen Becket-Davenport, PsyD: Maintaining Veteran Identity in a Civilian World; Dr. Benjamin Suarez-Jimenez, PhD: Neuroscience of the Brain and How We Shape Our Future; Matthew Ryba, USMC veteran: Personal Experience: Transition from the Military; Dr. Andrea Lopez-Yianilos, PsyD: The Importance of Sleep; Dr. Andrew McAleavey, PhD: Mental Health in Veterans: Myths and Reality.
