The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum offers a presentation called Your Brain on the Military: Military Family Members on April 12, 3-5pm. The Intrepid Museum and New-York Presbyterian Military Family Wellness Center welcome current and former military service members and their family and friends for an afternoon exploring the links between military service and the brain. Hear from researchers and veterans as they unravel myths and realities about veterans and mental health.
Attend a panel discussion about the roles of military family members and caregivers during a loved one's service, deployment, and separation from the military. Panelists will discuss experiences with the family unit, military community, mental health and resources available to current military and veteran family members.
Kate Springer, Ph.D., (moderator) is a post-doctoral psychology fellow at Columbia/NYSPI’s Military Family Wellness Center, where she specializes in the treatment and assessment of mood and trauma-related disorders.
