The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum offers a presentation called Your Brain on the Military - A Conversation with Bruce Shapiro on Wartime Journalism: Combat, Conflict, and Mental Health on January 17, 3-5pm. The Intrepid Museum and New-York Presbyterian Military Family Wellness Center welcome current and former military service members and their family and friends for an afternoon exploring the links between military service and the brain. Hear from researchers and veterans as they unravel myths and realities about veterans and mental health.

Bruce Shapiro is the executive director of the Dart Center for Journalism and Trauma, a project of Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism that encourages innovative reporting on violence, conflict and tragedy worldwide. His books include Shaking the Foundations: 200 Years of Investigative Journalism in America and Legal Lynching: The Death Penalty and America’s Future. He is a recipient of the International Society for Traumatic Stress Public Advocacy Away.
